ORFIUM, the innovative start-up company that develops technological solutions for the music and entertainment industry, has acquired Breaker INC, a Tokyo-based promotional, marketing and content company.

Breaker will become ORFIUM Japan and instigate new partnerships in the world’s second biggest music market across music, gaming, entertainment and anime with the award-winning ORFIUM product suite.

With headquarters in Los Angeles, London and an extended R&D team in Athens, Greece, ORFIUM contributes to the protection of content rights and maximization of royalties, generated from uses on various platforms for rights owners, artists, creators and relative organizations worldwide. Its products reinvent how technology accurately discovers, dissects, and tracks the usage of audio and visual catalogues for transparent and effective rights management to the benefit of creators and rightsholders.

Breaker was founded in 2013 by Alan Swarts, formerly Vice President at MTV/Viacom in Japan, and John Possman, Co-Founder of DFR Asia.  Launched as one of the first YouTube-centric companies in Japan, Breaker has since built a global influencer network, produced big budget original content (including YouTube FanFest Japan and a YouTube Originals movie), and managed social media accounts on behalf of media and entertainment companies.
